This Bag Saves Lives!!

I love bringing my own bags to the grocery store and farmer’s market, and I’m a sucker for recycled bags (I’ve got quite a collection), especially those that are created for a worthy cause. I discovered this tote on the InStyle magazine blog (which is in my WordPress reader). The tote was designed by Kristen Bell, who you may remember as the voice on Gossip Girl and also way back when as the star of Veronica Mars. The sale of each bag provides life-saving malaria treatment to someone in need. made with 100% golden jute fiber, with a waterproof lining, and consists of vegan and recycled materials.

At $28, the first run flew off the shelves, but they are accepting pre-orders, which will take 8-12 weeks because they are sustainably handcrafted by artisans in Bangladesh. I’m placing my order! For yours shop here

Decisions, Decisions Part I

So… I’m embarking on the trip of a lifetime in April. It’s actually a country on my bucket list!!! I AM BEYOND EXCITED!!! I won’t reveal where just yet, as there will be extensive blogging and Instagraming all about it, while I’m there… Please stay tuned!

I’ve been looking for some lightweight dresses, long and short, so here are a few I’ve found so far. Let me know your thoughts. Many more choices to come, I’ve only just started!

Chloe & Theodora Wrap Bangle ~ Part II…

So my bangle arrived today! I was pleasantly surprised as I truly did not expect it until the end of next week, if that! I commend MyHabit.com and their speedy shipping. The bangle is absolutely GORGEOUS! It looks expensive, has a nice weight to it (I don’t like flimsy jewelry!) and will be my go to piece for a while.

As I mentioned in my post on Tuesday, the bangle was originally$78 reduced to $25, well worth it, in my opinion. Wrap bangle is still available here.

This definitely is a lovely early birthday present to me! Let the celebrations begin!

So I’m crocheting away and watching TV at the same time, when Access Hollywood came on. I was too lazy to change the channel so I continued to watch. Now, this is a show I hardly ever watch, but today, I’m glad I did. You Are Not Average!!

Over the past week, I have been blessed by quite a few women via Instagram, Facebook and in person, that I have been an inspiration to them. That is one of the highest compliments, anyone can ever pay me. My whole reason for ever starting my blog, was to inspire other women {and gentlemen too!}, that we are powerful, shining stars, who can accomplish anything we want to, when we set our hearts and minds on whichever path we choose to go.

I decided, 3 years ago, that I wanted to bring a ray of sunshine to your day, and hopefully inspire you to put your best foot forward; start that business you’ve been dreaming about, style inspiration, or just posting a motivational quote, that may set off a light bulb in your head. For me, if I have inspired one person, then I have accomplished what I originally set out to do.

Take this to heart: Shine every single day, Live Boldly every single day and always, always be YOU!

Three Years Old Today…

Maylana’s Chronicles is THREE!! Oh my goodness! Where did the time go? It has been an amazing journey. So much has happened in my life, in the 3 years since I decided to become a blogger; some things amazing, some things not so much. What’s important is, it’s been a fantastic and enlightening journey, I’ve learned so much, and I’m looking forward to showing you what’s to come in 2015.

I want to thank my true followers, who have stuck with me, through little to no blog posts, to blog posts every single day. Thank you for being here!

Hi Darlings! Now that the partying and celebrations have come to a close, it’s now time to start our personal journey to fulfilling our resolutions, declarations, promises, whatever term you care to use. I feel it in my bones, that 2015 is going to be a marvelous year.

Always remember, if an obstacle should present itself and get in your way, it’s only purpose is to help you grow. Learn the lesson and move on!
