A new year is here. We are blessed with another chance to start anew. Wishing you all much Success, Peace and Prosperity. Whatever was holding you back in 2015, it’s time to LET IT GO! Promise yourself one thing this year… Don’t live in the past! You have the power to make 2016 AMAZING!
Hopefully you’ve remembered to “fall backwards” in other words, set your clocks and multiple devices back one hour and gotten that much-needed extra hour in bed. I’m taking it really easy today, as I’ve set myself some important goals for the coming week. What goals have you set for yourself this week? Above is a snapshot of how I plan to spend my day. Hopefully this post will inspire you to take a page out of my book and make this day a truly relaxing one, so that you can be totally refreshed for the week ahead.
I simply love books which inspire and motivate. I’m on a major spiritual journey, and I’m absorbing as much as I can in order to succeed on my path to greatness. I must be able to help others as well as myself. Growing and becoming the best woman I can be is a constant and daily goal, I must strive for and be better than I was yesterday. My current daily read is Destiny Daily Readings, inspirations for Your life’s Journey by T.D. Jakes.
This little gem is a companion to Bishop Jakes new book Destiny, which I will start reading soon. It’s a book of affirmations, meditations and scripture with suggested action steps on fulfilling your God-given role day by day. It’s definitely food for thought. Wow!!
I can’t believe it’s been 3 months since my last blog post! My life has been an absolute whirlwind, beautiful new home, new contract, new hair (if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know what I’m talking about! scroll down the page to my IG feed), growing spiritually and tuning into my faith more than I ever have in my life! God has been good to me! The last 3 months have been trying, joyful, painful, disappointing, frustrating, enlightening, every adjective you can think of; but you know what? The beautiful thing is, I’m still here, stronger, more joyful and happier than I’ve truly been in the last couple of years.
I’m ready to return to blogging, because my mind, body and spirit are in a wonderful place and I’m finally ready to really grow my brand and take it into the stratosphere. the grand heights, which I envisioned 5 years ago when I started Maylana’s Closet, Maylana’s Chronicles and now Style1963, more on that last one in the coming months. To be honest, my dreams are even bigger, than they were before!
If you’re wondering what the image above represents, it’s the number of my new home. 212 means a lot to me, because when I first moved to NY from London, 212 was my area code, so it seems fitting that I’ve come full circle and am now living at 212 in Washington, DC!
I’ve missed you all, I’ve missed blogging, sitting at my computer composing my blog posts, communicating with my fellow bloggers, and all the extra stuff which goes with being a blogger and building a brand. I’m so happy to say… I’M BACK!!! And what better way, than to make a fabulous return at the beginning of a brand new month.

Hello lovely people!
It has been quite a while since I’ve posted. So much has happened, it’s been a truly unbelievable time. I’ve had some health issues, which really set me back, and then I took my dream trip to Dubai, which was Ah-Mazing!!! I’ve already been back 2 weeks, and am now trying to play catch up with my life and B-School (click here for post), which I’m very much behind on. More importantly, I’m truly blessed and I’m thankful to the people who were there for me when I was ill, always making sure I was taken care of. I’m hoping to have a post up with photos about my bucket list trip to Dubai this weekend.

Hi Darlings! I have been missing for a few weeks (again!). Busy creating the life I want. My life has been one big whirl wind lately, so many fantastic changes happening with me, my company and my brand. One of the things I’ve done, is to enrolled myself in Marie Forleo’s B-School. If you haven’t heard of her, you need to go to her site and check her out here. I learned about Marie from a new business associate I recently met, and this information came into my life right on time. I’ve done my research, and in my opinion, Marie is the real deal. Registration is going on now, through to March 2, classes start March 9. In the meantime, Marie has been sending out fantastic videos to us B-School students, to get us started, before class officially begins; I’m so looking forward to this new chapter of my life! I’ll keep you updated on my journey.

So… I’m embarking on the trip of a lifetime in April. It’s actually a country on my bucket list!!! I AM BEYOND EXCITED!!! I won’t reveal where just yet, as there will be extensive blogging and Instagraming all about it, while I’m there… Please stay tuned!

Have yourselves a absolutely fabulous weekend!
Over the past week, I have been blessed by quite a few women via Instagram, Facebook and in person, that I have been an inspiration to them. That is one of the highest compliments, anyone can ever pay me. My whole reason for ever starting my blog, was to inspire other women {and gentlemen too!}, that we are powerful, shining stars, who can accomplish anything we want to, when we set our hearts and minds on whichever path we choose to go.
I decided, 3 years ago, that I wanted to bring a ray of sunshine to your day, and hopefully inspire you to put your best foot forward; start that business you’ve been dreaming about, style inspiration, or just posting a motivational quote, that may set off a light bulb in your head. For me, if I have inspired one person, then I have accomplished what I originally set out to do.
Take this to heart: Shine every single day, Live Boldly every single day and always, always be YOU!

Maylana’s Chronicles is THREE!! Oh my goodness! Where did the time go? It has been an amazing journey. So much has happened in my life, in the 3 years since I decided to become a blogger; some things amazing, some things not so much. What’s important is, it’s been a fantastic and enlightening journey, I’ve learned so much, and I’m looking forward to showing you what’s to come in 2015.
