Motivational Quote

Over the past week, I have been blessed by quite a few women via Instagram, Facebook and in person, that I have been an inspiration to them. That is one of the highest compliments, anyone can ever pay me. My whole reason for ever starting my blog, was to inspire other women {and gentlemen too!}, that we are powerful, shining stars, who can accomplish anything we want to, when we set our hearts and minds on whichever path we choose to go.

I decided, 3 years ago, that I wanted to bring a ray of sunshine to your day, and hopefully inspire  you to put your best foot forward; start that business you’ve been dreaming about, style inspiration, or just posting a motivational quote, that may set off a light bulb in your head.  For me, if I have inspired one person, then I have accomplished what I originally set out to do.

Take this to heart: Shine every single day, Live Boldly every single day and always, always be YOU!

Love, Light, Creativity, and Blessings!

Number 3

Maylana’s Chronicles is THREE!! Oh my goodness! Where did the time go?  It has been an amazing journey. So much has happened in my life, in the 3 years since I decided to become a blogger; some things amazing, some things not so much.  What’s important is, it’s been a fantastic and enlightening journey, I’ve learned so much, and I’m looking forward to showing you what’s to come in 2015.

I want to thank my true followers, who have stuck with me, through little to no blog posts, to blog posts every single day.  Thank you for being here!

I love every single one of you

Kisses

2015 - Let It Go

Hi Darlings! Now that the partying and celebrations have come to a close, it’s now time to start our personal journey to fulfilling our resolutions, declarations, promises, whatever term you care to use.  I feel it in my bones, that 2015 is going to be a marvelous year.

Always remember, if an obstacle should present itself and get in your way, it’s only purpose is to help you grow.  Learn the lesson and move on!

I found the above quote on Facebook, for me it sums up how I’m thinking succinctly!

2015, Happy New Year

As 2015 draws to a close, I reflect upon the challenges this year brought with it, and I wondered how it would ever turn around.  However, God had a different plan, and turned everything around for me a few months ago.  Since then multiple blessings have been showered upon me, which have made the valley I had to travel through, once again, so much worth it.

Cheers to a good year ahead, wishing you Peace, Blessings, and Success in your endeavors, and may 2015 be the year you make your mark and be the Superstar you were born to be.

If you’re looking for a fun cocktail, to ring in the new year (besides champagne) This bourbon cocktail will do the trick at your New Year’s celebrations.  I was at a cocktail party last month, and this drink was served, I thought it was absolutely delicious!!

Sugar Paper, Los Angeles…

In Daily Chronicles on December 9, 2014 at 3:38 pm

Sugar Paper Journals, Target, Sugar Paper, Journal

If you love beautiful stationary like I do, you’ll love the Sugar Paper Planners and Calendars Collection at Target.  I love Target, you know when you walk in there, there’s going to be something pretty and interesting, just tempting you to buy and take home (even if you just ran in for bottled water!).  I’m quite taken with Sugar Paper’s spiral bound 2015 journal and the slim gold one, which is very elegant and small enough to pop into your handbag.  Prices range from $7.99 to $14.99.

The collection launched back in October, so once their gone, they’re gone, but there was still quite a good selection available in my local target.  If you’re looking for stocking stuffers or a last-minute gift, get there soon, as I’m not sure how much longer items are going to be available.

Pop over to  Sugar Paper’s website, which is absolutely beautiful and elegant; with note sets, calendars, art prints and everything beautiful to do with paper in gorgeous fonts.  You can also customize certain items with monogramming, and as a special treat, they have free desk top wallpapers you can download to brighten up your desk top and mobile devices.  This is a paper queen’s paradise!

Fabulously Head Wrapped!

Fanm Djanm - Main Pic

What I love about Instagram is that you meet and are able to follow the most interesting and creative people.  One of these people is a beautiful woman by the name of Paola.  Paola Mathe is a lifestyle blogger of Haitian descent based in New York City, but to me she is so much more than that.  She is beautiful, talented and moves to the beat of her own drum.  She exudes so much life and happiness, while embracing her rich Haitian culture.  Paola appears to be enjoying every single minute of life.  To me Paola is a woman who is living Boldly!

I have been following and collecting Paola’s Fanm Djanm (which means “Strong Woman”) head wraps for quite a while now.  These gorgeous creations are a statement unto themselves.  With their gorgeous colours and patterns, they are a sizable length, to create whatever style of head wrap you desire.  To make even more of a bold statement, you can also purchase and add a head chain; these stunning pieces of head/hair jewelry will surely cause you to stand out from the crowd.

Paola is an entrepreneur and blogger who truly inspires me.  Paola, you are a true Fanm Djanm!

To purchase your head wrap, visit Paola at her beautiful website

Monday Musings…

In Daily Chronicles, Daily Musings on November 3, 2014 at 2:36 pm

November is here and she arrived with a bang! It was freezing on Saturday and the clocks went back on Sunday, which have thankfully given us an extra hour (which has it’s pluses and minuses).  As I’ve said before this year has sped by much too fast!

Bahamas Cable Beach 2As promised here is a link to a collection of photo’s of my mini vacation in the Bahamas, which I created using Flipagram and posted to Steller and Instagram (@maylana). I realized I took over 200 photographs with my iPhone, but have condensed them down to this short video. Click on the coconut to the left.

Rested, Refreshed, Rejuvenated!

Hi Darlings:

I’m back from my mini vacation to the Bahamas; it’s amazing what you can accomplish in 3 days.  It was 3 days of sun and total relaxation, with a chance to really clear my mind and start over.  my creativity is in full force and I’m truly ready to bring my new business projects (yes projects, plural) to life.

What I love about living in the U.S., is that the islands are so close, you can hop on a plane for a quick getaway and be somewhere exotic in a couple of hours… Lovely!

Stay tuned for sunny photos from the beautiful Bahamas.  In the meantime, this was one of the views from my room.
