Hello…

Hi Darlings! This was originally written as yesterday’s post, but we had to celebrate Ms. Celia Cruz’s birthday. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, I know I did. I got so much done, I feel the weekend went by a little too quickly! Give thanks for this glorious new week, because it signifies new beginnings; which brings you one step closer to fulfilling all of your dreams, and accomplishing your goals.

On a different note, did anyone see the TLC movie last night? I didn’t as I did not get in until very late. I have heard, through friends, and social media, that it was a pretty good docudrama {though there were also the usual criticisms}, which stayed true to the essence of TLC’s biography. I’ll have to try to catch it on Video on Demand. What are your thoughts on the movie?

The Return…

Wow!!! I’ve been gone a long time!! (Since June to be exact) but I am back feeling wonderful and truly full of life. This blissful, spiritual, and constantly learning journey I’m on, has been truly amazing, taking the hard lowball hits with the wonderful euphoric highs; I’m glad to be back!!! New Name, New Attitude, New Me!

New Name

I’ve decided to rename my blog “Maylana’s Chronicles“, which will be more in line with the direction my blog is going in. Maylana’s Closet will strictly be my boutique where you’ll continue to find beautiful vintage and new items, crochet accessories, and all things beautiful. Watch out for fabulous new items, showcasing soon! Maylana’s Closet will also remain the name of my Facebook , Twitter and Tumblr pages.

Self Hosting

To take my blog to the next level self hosting is necessary, and coming very soon, so there will be a new blog layout. I’m really excited about the new look and feel of my online magazine. I will continue to bring you my interpretation of timeless style, beautiful clothing/accessories, beauty, cool gadgets, great stories, positive affirmations, and a beautiful ray of chic sunshine to bring a sparkle to your day. I truly wanted to start over with the new theme, but there are so many beautiful ones out there, and it was taking too long for me to make a final choice; so watch out for layout change soon.

I will continue to use the url www.maylanascloset.com until the final migration. For those of you looking for a self hosting platform, my research has shown Blue Host to be one of the best, and is also highly recommended by WordPress.

Many thanks to my new followers, who started discovered and started following when I was not blogging on a regular basis {there were quite a few of you♥); and thanks to those of you who recently recommended my blog to your inner circles and sent out lots of tweets promoting my blog to your own followers, which in turn caused my blog to grow even more… LOVE YOU♥♥ I was really worried about being gone for so long, but due to the fantastic support I was blessed with, I had no need. I’m honored to be part of the blogging community.

Nearly There…

It’s A New Dawn, It’s A New Day…

Hi Darlings, I thought I’d post an update to let you know how I’m doing on my self reflecting hiatus {and also show off my fabulous Sika dress}. I’m FANTASTIC!!! It’s been a challenging couple of months in my personal life, and that’s why I decided to put my blog on hiatus until the dust cleared. I’m happy to say 90% of the dust has settled into sparkling fairy dust, and my creativity is bouncing back with a force and passion, I’ve never seen before. It’s amazing how so much light can come out of a dark place.

♥Stay Strong♥

There comes a time in all of our lives when things look really bleak, but I’m here to tell you that if you just hold on, don’t give up and try your utmost to keep those negative thoughts at bay, you will come through {read “The Secret“}. Try your best to have some sense of normalcy, don’t throw yourself into a pit of depression, there’s nothing for you down there. Remember there are lessons to be learned through every life experience, especially the bad, and I’ve been blessed to have learned quite a few these past months. As far as I’m concerned it’s though God’s grace that I have come through my own predicament, a place I’ve never been before, and hope I never experience again. The most important thing is, I’ve learned so much more about myself, I’ve learned what’s really important. These new tools will guide me on my new path for the rest of my life’s journey.

♥Never Give Up♥

I’m choosing not to disclose what I’ve been through on my blog, because my blog is a happy place, and some things really are just personal. I also realize there are others, going through so much more than I did, so it’s important to me to try to inspire at least one person to Never Ever Give Up… Ever!

For those of you who read the bible, read Psalm 121 daily, believe me it’s very powerful; for those who know this Psalm, you know what I mean.

As I’ve mentioned before, in the coming months, there will be lots of exciting and lovely new things coming to my blog and my company; I’d love for you to stay tuned, and continue on this fabulous journey with me! Hi Darlings! Aren’t you happy that Monday is here again? It’s a new week to start over, complete what you started last week, to begin anew. Don’t look at Monday as a downer, look at it as a bright and shiny new beginning.

The above photograph was taken by me, of the much underrated Carnation. The Carnation is inexpensive and easy to come by, and is mocked for her cheapness. But one thing about this beautiful flower, is she’s more hearty than the other more expensive flora we like to buy {you can easily get 10 or more days out of her}, available year round, and comes in an array of colours, which compliments any décor. Just because she’s cheap, doesn’t mean she’s not beautiful♥

There are hundreds of boards with beautiful inspirational messages to inspire and motivate you. Here are just a few of my favourites.

Boss Friday…

Hi Darlings, Happy Friday! This week has seemed exceptionally long to me, but I think it’s because of the short week last week, which also seemed long.

This quote really inspired me today, and as I quoted on my Facebook page,”My crown is straightened! It’s Boss Friday!” because this is how I truly feel today. I hope your gorgeous crown is straightened too, stand tall Darlings.♥

Today is a bit of a dreary day, with lots of rain, due to the hurricane coming up from down south, but it’s needed, so no complaints here. Below is my 2nd creation, using my Bazaart app, I need to start naming my pieces, just in case they make me famous. 🙂

Hi Dahhlings… Here we are again, another Monday, even though it’s trying to snow here, it’s still a beautiful day. I’m feeling so much better after my sluggish week last week; my body has finally caught up to the Daylight Savings Time change 🙂

I had a great weekend; I created a couple of my flower hats in spring/easter colours, as well as sorting and organizing myself, both mentally and physically. It was a recalibration of sorts! I’m still reading “The Secret” which has been a fantastic source of inspiration for me. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, this is my second time reading it, which has been much more fulfilling then the first time around. I’m coming to the end and I plan to re-read it all over again!

Last week I received my copy of Eat Right 4 Your Type, a book which was first published in 1997 by Dr. Peter J.D’Adamo. The premise of the book is that due to our individual blood types, there are certain foods which are not conducive to our overall health and well-being.

My sister has been on this lifestyle food plan for approximately 6 years, and it truly has done wonders for her, she is testament to me, that it actually works.
