Back in November, I received a nice size sample of Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense, and I have to say, I absolutely love it. After following the usual 3 steps, wash, clarifying lotion, and moisturizer (for full disclosure, I don’t use the Clinique soap anymore, as I much prefer Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Cleansing Cream); you then apply Clinique’s Moisture Surge, by massaging it into your skin. What this product does for your skin is short of amazing, you have an instant glow, and if used at night (which I do), you wake up with your skin feeling really soft. Your skin literally drinks it in.
Since I’ve been using this product, I have definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin, which now feels much more hydrated and supple (and of course, drinking lots of water helps). For those of you, like me, with mature skin, this cream is a must have to add to your beauty arsenal. Buy yours here
Also try Clinique’s Moisture Surge which is fantastic (and also in my beauty case) for hydrating your skin during those hot and humid summer months.
Have yourselves a beautified and glorious day!

Me! Yes Darlings, today is my birthday; I am so thankful and blessed to see another year. It has been an interesting year from 50 to 51, so many lessons learned, so much enlightenment. Many thanks to my UK family, Instagram and Facebook friends who have wished me lovely birthday blessings, I thank you all for sharing my day with me. The best gift today, was being completely snowed in here in DC, therefore, I did not have to go anywhere, so I was nice and cozy at home.
My birthday is actually my personal new year, so goals have been set, prayers have been said, and I’m looking forward to seeing what my 51st year brings. Jill Scott’s Golden video was sent to me as part of a birthday greeting, it sums up the way I’m living my life perfectly!

Did you see that red dress at the Golden Globes! In the photo above, yellow truly becomes her, don’t you think? No matter what Lupita wears she looks gorgeous.
The beautiful and talented actress from 12 Years A Slave has truly made her mark on the film world. Let’s stay tuned to see what she does next. I hope she takes home that well deserved Oscar.

It’s pouring with rain here in DC, but I’m nice and toasty with a wonderful smoothie consisting of carrot juice, almond milk, papaya, peaches, flax seed, spinach, parsley, and almond slices… Yum♥
A rainy Saturday, is a perfect time to just curl up and watch reruns of Sherlock Holmes, with Benedict Cumberbatch, until the new series starts here in the U.S., which is what I’m going to do.
Have yourselves a fabulously chic weekend♥

I’ve been catching glimpses of the Wendy Williams show over the last few weeks, and I’ve been quite intrigued by the fabulous crystal cat eye reading glasses she’s being wearing. After a little Google search, I found out that they are made by a company called Divalicious.
These beauties are not for the faint of heart, I absolutely love them, and the prices are amazing, starting at $58.00, where you could treat yourself to a couple of pairs and take them to your optician to have your prescription lens dropped in if you need more than readers. There are also sparkly eyeglass cases, if you’re so inclined. How Bold!
Click here to see more Divalicious designs.

Today is Be Bold Friday. Go after what you want to do; be who you want to be and move through the discomfort you feel as you stretch beyond your present conditions. Believe me, its worth it!

Today is the birthday of a literary legend, and one of my favourite authors, Zora Neale Hurston. Born January 7, 1891, Ms. Hurston became one of the leading voices of the Harlem Renaissance, after arriving in New York in 1925, when the Renaissance was at its peak, becoming one of the most widely acclaimed Black authors in America, from the mid twenties to the mid forties.
I have a small collection of Ms. Hurston’s books in my own library, my favourites being, Their Eyes Were Watching God {one of her most popular books}, Dust Tracks On The Road and Wrapped in Rainbows.
In her honor, Google created a Google Doodle to commemorate what would have been her 123rd birthday.

Hello Darlings! I hope you’re enjoying this rather wintry Saturday, which has finally gotten up to 29 sunny degrees! looking out the window, there’s a beautiful blue sky and lots of sun; if it wasn’t for the snow, you wouldn’t believe it was so cold. This morning when I was out and about it was very nippy 15 degrees… but I had the mink on, so I was fabulously warm!
The photos below are from Friday morning and Thursday night, which is when the snow started. It was no longer lovely, when it took me 40 minutes to get the snow off my vehicle!! I must say at the moment, it feels good to be nice and toasty in my apartment, where I’m now taking down my Christmas decorations, while drinking a glass of Coquito, which is made for me, every holiday by one of my Latina divas in New York.

Have yourselves a fabulous Saturday.
Love & Light to you!

2014 came in quietly, she gently sat down beside me and asked, “so what do we do now?” my response, with the grace of God go I. This year, I won’t be making the usual resolutions, the only thing I ask is for Grace, and nothing short of Amazing, which I know I’ll be blessed with. As I gave thanks to the most high for seeing me through the difficult challenges of 2013, and I reflected back on my year, I hope I have learned even more valuable lessons about this journey called life. I feel that I have grown to become a much more enlightened and enriched woman than the one who celebrated her 50th birthday last January, because I’m most definitely not the same as before. Now it’s time to move forward and accomplish the personal goals I have set for myself.
Once again I want to thank my fantastic and beautiful loyal followers who are here with me on my blogging journey, even though I’ve been unable to post as often as I’d like, due to my hectic schedule, which I’m hoping to rectify soon. I’m wishing you all, the most fabulous year you’ve ever witnessed, may your dreams be fulfilled, and you keep moving forward in your high heels and flats on your own incredible journey.
I want to wish you the most Blessed, Prosperous, Creative and Amazingly wonderful 2014. Namaste!
