It’s been one busy week! After finishing up a contract, going to lunch meetings to discuss where I’m taking the Maylana’s Closet empire next; taking numerous photos for my Etsy store (still in uploading phase, its never-ending) and then on top of that melting away in 100 degree heat! I think I have good reason to be MIA the last 4 days. Well I’m back, rejuvenated, creative juices flowing and ready to roll! You may have noticed a few minor changes. I’ve finally figured out how to add a tag line to my site “Living Out Loud ~ Today and Every Day” It’s a motto I’ve been living by for the last couple of years and it’s served me well.
I’ve also added a Blog Shop page; watch that space {visit it now to see a beautiful outfit from the Alexander McQueen resort collection}; lot’s of beautiful things coming soon. It will be a duplicate of some of my Etsy store listings which contains vintage items, but there will also be new/preloved items which don’t come under “vintage”, Etsy is very specific. I will also be showcasing huge colourful crochet cowls and hats created by me for Fall/Winter 2012. My About Pagehas also had minor tweaking.
I was going to write a whole post on my new HP TouchSmart 520-1070 computer, but for brevity, I’m now only going to dedicate a small amount of space to it. Of course that’s my new baby above and below. All I can say about it is I Love It!!! It arrived on Friday and I’ve been in love ever since. It has all the bells and whistles, multi-touch screen, wireless mouse and keyboard, 2 TB hard drive, with 8GB of memory; it’s like one giant iPad if I want it to be; and I now feel like I am blogging in true style :-). As my sister stated, it’s “A sexy bit of kit” what does that mean? well in Brit speak it means it’s a beautiful piece of machinery. Today has been the craziest and busiest day so far, therefore I have not had time to write today’s post. I usually have what I call fill-in posts written in advance for when I’m busy, but I’ve been a little swamped over the past week. Today I’m reposting an article that has been very popular and has generated a lot of interest.
To all my lovely bombshells who have been asking; the answer is NO!!! I have not found this bag; and not for the lack of trying!! This aqua coloured Coach bag is the most elusive and obviously exclusive and rare Coach bag ever! I have tried several avenues of trying to locate this bag, even calling outside the country; but to no avail. This bag is easy to obtain in any other colour but the aqua; apparently Coach only released a very limited run in this colour. At this time, we shall just have to continue to drool over the photo.

I just discovered this amazing aqua coloured Coach bag which I found on @justsitpretty’s Pinterest board. Do you hear me screaming just have to have!!! I am obsessed with this colour. This bag is simply gorgeous!!! It is 11:11 pm at night. I’m going to track this baby down tomorrow.
Update 4/17 – just found out from @justsitpretty this bag is called the Kristin Elevated Satchel and it’s no longer available in aqua… Bummer! eBay here I come!!!

I’m quite intrigued by the heel less shoe which is trying to be the current trend right now (note: I said trying). Thanks in part to Lady Gaga strutting in her Noritaka Tatehana designed shoe back in 2011. What I’ve noticed, is you either really hate this shoe or you really love it. I’m still undecided as I don’t see myself wearing these 20 years from now (will these ever be vintage? NOT!). I do think these red sparkly ones above would look great on display in my living room though; what else would you do with these shoes?. I’ve written about these shoes before, but was inspired to write about them again after attending a fabulous event a couple of weekends ago. There were at least 3 women teetering around in these imaginary 5 inch wonders.

After some research and watching YouTube videos, I found out that these shoes are fairly easy to walk in. Apparently the trick is that the shoes are actually quite heavy because they are weighted in the platform base under the toe. Therefore, all your weight is forced forwards, then downwards, so you are unable to tip backwards (I’m still not truly convinced about that). On the flip side, I’ve also seen YouTube videos of fashion shows, where models have stumbled and fallen flat on their faces; not a pretty sight! This is probably the last time you’ll hear about these shoes from me for a while, I’m moving on to other interesting things!
The Trina Turk capsule collection for Banana Republic, which was released yesterday, is in my opinion very Miami. Swirls of pinks, purples, blues, greens, and oranges. This colourful collection makes you want to sit fly out to the Caribbean to a swanky hotel and sit in a lounge chair by the infinity pool, while you sip delicately on a Pimms cocktail. Now wouldn’t that be lovely!
My favourites from the collection are a short strapless dress and a one shoulder number, going for approximately $150 and $130 respectively.

I’m not obsessed with Converse sneakers {really I’m not!}, but I heard about these Wonder Woman All Star sneakers, and had to conduct research and post them for you. In my opinion they are just too cool for words, and yes I’m getting a pair.
All women should own a pair of these. Why? Because we are exactly that, WONDERFUL! The things we accomplish everyday, taking care of our families, holding down careers and just plain taking care of life for ourselves and others is beyond extraordinary (without the magic lasso no less); and most importantly, we are DESERVING! Well it’s finally here, the weekend we’ve been waiting for. For me it means 4 whole days of relaxation, cocktails, a good book and fabulous company. It’s time for some bright colours, high-heeled sandals and teeny bikinis if you can, or an elegant one piece if you can’t/or don’t want to. It’s all about looking good, feeling good and putting your stylish foot forward; and just being you! let’s get ready for summer! Today I’m posting a Smorgasbord of pics for ideas and inspiration.

I’m just loving the Herena floral print shoe by Aldo. Very much in tune with this season’s bright colours floating around this spring and summer season. For your outfit, I would suggest you pick a neutral colour as your base, pick one of the colours in the shoe if you like, this way you won’t look like a walking botanical garden. Make these shoes the statement of your outfit.
