TGIF… Really!!!

In Daily Musings on November 9, 2012 at 4:00 pm

It’s been a long stressful week, so, I’ve decided to post some random images with lots of colour; more to cheer me up than anything else; therefore, this post is a little self-indulgent (actually a lot :-)).  Here goes…  The poster above is an image featured by the Urban Forms Gallery, Lodz Poland. I’d love this in my living room… Yes really!!!

I love all the colours involved with this photograph.  Don’t you just love her hand jewelry? I’d love to obtain one of those for myself!!

African glam at it’s best! I want this dress! The only way to go to market!

I’m totally in love with this Zac Posen dress from his 2013 collection

I continue to get asked about this gorgeous wedding dress, which has generated some major bride envy.  Australian shoe queen, Terry Biviano’s mermaid inspired wedding gown, was designed by J’Aton. http://www.jatoncouture.com/ As I’ve said before this dress is simply stunning! See blog post here

“Bayala” by Isabelle Sauvineau Now here’s colour for you.  Absolutely beautiful piece of art (Copyright Isabelle Sauvineau)

Here’s a piece of art titled “Aquar’elle” by Adrien Donot, that really inspires me.  I think it’s the hair, the blackness of it against the rest of her and of course the Vidal Sassoon inspired bob. (Copyright Adrien Donot)

Choreographer, Fatima Robinson, always colourful in her dance.

Although this is not a colour image, the grace with which this child dances in the street, absorbed in his own colourful world, in my eyes makes him graceful and majestic.  He appears totally obsorbed in this one movement; the camera has caught him just right. Love this photo!

And always remember to tell yourself…

Because you are!

I hope these beautiful images brought some much-needed colour to your day; they did for me. I could have posted so much more, but this post would have gone on forever; maybe I’ll post more over the weekend.  I’d love to wish you an Amazing and Inspiring weekend.

In Daily Musings on October 19, 2012 at 9:08 am

I’m really thanking God it’s Friday today.  Another long grueling week is coming to a close; but the weekend is finally here, and I’m going to enjoy it to the max!!!

I just found these chevron striped Louboutins and they have already made my morning while drinking my cup of hazelnut coffee.  I’m hoping to find other images of this shoe, so stay tuned.

I’m also planning to visit the Women Who Rock exhibition, which is an interactive retrospective, spotlighting more than 70 artists at the National Museum of Women In The Arts; here in DC until January 6.   Blog post on this groundbreaking presentation coming soon.

Have yourselves a Fabulous, Extraordinary and very Chic weekend.

A Rather Mint Friday….

In Daily Musings on July 20, 2012 at 9:30 am

My “Seeing Red” post {https://maylanascloset.com/2012/07/11/seeing-red/} went rather well (thanks everyone :-)), so I decided to showcase another colour that I love.  Here are my mint favourites. Enjoy!

Mint Fascinator and mint pleated dress, paired with a gorgeous olive Celine Trapeze bag (oh how I want that bag!) is a beautiful combination.

Mint crystal pleated dress, how it flows!

It has mint in it! Isn’t it gorgeous ~ The Deloris Petunia Cuff http://www.etsy.com/listing/64134075/custom-diamonds-are-a-girls-best  ~ Watch out for a future blog post ~Absolutely Gorgeous jewelry

I’m not sure what I love more, her funky afro or her mint coloured Mongolian fur jacket!

Simply Gorgeous! This is what you should wear while preparing yourself a little snack!

Do you see those mint crochet shorts?  ~ I could crochet my own pair! I’m also loving that ring with the ocean blue nail polish

There’s mint in here too! Limited edition Style Icon Tribal Skirt (UK) £29 ~ http://www.styleiconscloset.com/product/african-tribal-print-skirt

For me the styling of this shot is simply stunning!!!

Tranquility!

A Shabby Chic Vanity ~ A must!

…And to top it all off you must have a mint cream cupcake!

…Or would you rather mint/chocolate chip ice-cream?

My week has been really busy, but I’ve tried to continue to post beautiful things for you.  The past week is my idea of sparse posts, lots of gorgeous pictures with a little editorial.  I’m hoping to be back to full editoral content soon. Have a wonderful Friday, and have yourselves the most amazing, fun-filled {and cool} weekend!

A Chic Friday…

Where is it?

Hello Daahlings… Happy Friday to you. I’ve been so busy running around like a crazy person, I’ve decided to take another mental health day to regroup.  This is a quick post to say hello, and to say; have yourselves a marvelous and gorgeous weekend.  Do something amazing so you can look back on Monday, and say “Yes I accomplished that!“.

I found the above photo on Pinterest, my favourite place for inspiration, and just had to post it.  The sorbet colours, and the sexy peek of coral caught my eye;  I feel she’s asking “where is it?”  Maybe she dropped her Harry Winston earring!

Enjoy your Friday and remember to…

A Grey Goose Friday…

In Daily Musings on April 12, 2012 at 7:22 pm

It’s our favourite day again ladies; and I’ve found the most perfect and simple cocktail which you will make for yourself tonight after a long week at the office (insert sublimal message here).  The makers of Grey Goose have created a new flavour called Cherry Noir and they’ve concocted this simple recipe.

To all of you I say… Cheers and Happy Friday!  Remember you deserve it.

Ingredients

GREY GOOSE® Cherry Noir  – 1 ½ Parts
Cola  – 3 ½ Parts
Grenadine – ½ Part

Preparation
  1. Fill glass slightly above rim with cubed ice.
  2. Pour ingredients in order listed to 1/2 inch from top of glass and stir.
  3. Add soda straw and garnish with a cherry.
 Tips

Give the cocktail a slight stir with the straw prior to serving to mix the ingredients, but do so gently, so as not to release all the carbonation.
