My XO Cafe…

In Daily Musings on November 14, 2012 at 3:43 pm

One of my favourite liqueurs is Patrón XO Cafe.  This super smooth coffee liqueur which is a blend of Arabica coffee and premium Patrón Silver tequila, is one of the nicest drinks to have.

Great on its own; or try, half a cup Patron XO Cafe, a couple of tablespoons of Carnation milk with a few cubes of ice in a blender, rotated on high, will cause you to have created one creamy and potent cocktail.  Try it in your coffee one Sunday morning, you’ll never look at coffee the same way again!

Happy Wednesday!

Wow!!! What a week! This was the longest and shortest week ever! Have you ever had one of those?

I’ve got so much going on; new contract; trying to start and finish up the Maylana’s Closet winter accessory line; coordinate with my sister who is in the middle of creating her own knitwear line, while helping me prepare for the big fashion event I wrote about on Monday click here.  Are there enough hours in the day… Help!!

The above photo is where I’d love to be right about now!

Before I slept for a week, I’d take a long soak in this gorgeous specimen of a tub…

Then top my night off with a cocktail called Dark & StormyClick here for recipe

Wishing you a Fabulous, Amazing and Chic filled weekend!

Hello Dahhlings… After battling a slight cold, I’m back.  Today I’m relaxing with my must read material, August’s Harper’s Bazaar (yes I’m very behind on this one) and  Vogue’s 916 page September issue {it’ weighs a ton}.   To help me through this strenuous task, I’m sipping on a watermelon mojito.

I discovered this delicious recipe last week via fellow blogger at Keep Calm and Eat On {read post here}.  My mojito has a lot more mint in it, because that’s my taste.  Visit Keep Calm’s blog to see the gorgeous photos she posted and to get the mojito receipe {read her blog while you’re there}, you’ll be glad you did.

I’m now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Harper’s Bazaar and Elle magazine’s huge September issues, which should be forced into my mailbox soon.

BTW ~ I’m loving that Dolce & Gabbana dress (2nd row, left).

A Scorcher!!!

A delicious Pimms Cup

It is absolutely scorching here in DC! We were up to 98 degrees on Wednesday, and yesterday, WeatherBug said we hit 100!!! It’s not cute, because at these temperatures, everything is wilting, including me. It’s a little hard to look chic while melting, unless you’re lounging at the pool at the King & Grove Tides Hotel (one of my favourites) in Miami.  So to keep you cool, here is one of my favourite summer time beverages, which is called a Pimms Cup  http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/pimms-cup-recipe/index.html

Also another variation of this recipe, (which is the recipe my sister taught me) is to pour approximately 2 ounces of Pimms No.1 in a tall glass and then fill the rest of the glass with D&G Jamaican Ginger Beer, add a slice of lime and… Cheers!

This is where I need to be ~ the King & Grove Tides Hotel in South Beach, Miami ~ click for details

Stay cool, drinks lots of water and enjoy your Pimms Cup!

Smooches!

Bloom Where You’re Planted…

One of the original Fashionistas/Diva

Well here we are again Divas, it’s Monday, and another fresh start.  What are you going to do with this new week you’ve been blessed with?  How are you going to make it special?  Do something great, have something to show for it by Friday.  This is the lead up to the U.S. Memorial weekend; so it’s going to be a short week for most (myself included) Are you bikini ready?? I’ve still got 6lbs to go, but I’m good.

I had a lovely weekend.  Went to my favourite spot, Oya, to celebrate another Diva’s birthday, Ms. Donna, where we had a fabulous time with lots of sushi, cocktails and good conversation.  While there, we met Antoine Anderson, who owns a modeling agency; he walked in with about 13 male models (that in itself was a sight to see) who all looked absolutely gorgeous in Antoine’s line of bow ties and their 2 piece suits.  Antoine conducted a photo shoot and  left… That’s fabulousness for you.  Watch out for Antoine in a future post.  Happy Birthday Donna, we celebrated in style.

Model rocking his high top to maximum effect.
I haven’t seen one since the 90’s

Bloom Where You’re Planted… Make sure you constantly blossom, do something spectacular right where you’re standing.  Today is your day to shine.  SHINE ON DIVAS! Be the Bombshells you are!

Here is a track by Nuyorican Soul I had on repeat during my commute this  morning.  Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWSFllXLd4k

Have a fabulous, glorious and blessed Monday!

A Grey Goose Friday…

In Daily Musings on April 12, 2012 at 7:22 pm

It’s our favourite day again ladies; and I’ve found the most perfect and simple cocktail which you will make for yourself tonight after a long week at the office (insert sublimal message here).  The makers of Grey Goose have created a new flavour called Cherry Noir and they’ve concocted this simple recipe.

To all of you I say… Cheers and Happy Friday!  Remember you deserve it.

Ingredients

GREY GOOSE® Cherry Noir  – 1 ½ Parts
Cola  – 3 ½ Parts
Grenadine – ½ Part

Preparation
  1. Fill glass slightly above rim with cubed ice.
  2. Pour ingredients in order listed to 1/2 inch from top of glass and stir.
  3. Add soda straw and garnish with a cherry.
 Tips

Give the cocktail a slight stir with the straw prior to serving to mix the ingredients, but do so gently, so as not to release all the carbonation.
