Posting For No Other Reason…

In Daily Musings on March 25, 2013 at 4:37 pmHello Dahhlings! The photo above {captured by me on my trusty iPhone}, is what I woke up to this morning. This being the 5th day of spring, the joke is still on us. Though pretty and looking much like a Norman Rockwell painting, this is not what we would normally expect for the last week in March.
I hope you had yourselves a fabulous weekend, and you’re ready and rearing to go for the upcoming week.
Just remember; blue skies are somewhere on the horizon.

Alek, Karl and Me…
In Daily Musings on March 15, 2013 at 4:47 pmIsn’t this a great shot of Karl Largerfeld and the beautiful Sudanese beauty, Alek Wek!
Happy Friday Dahhlings… This has been a very sluggish, no energy week for me, I think it’s the time change {still don’t know why we continue to do this}, therefore, my posts have been very sparse this week.
Here are a few more images of the beautiful Alek:
I hope you’re having a fantastic Friday and you’re all set for the weekend, I know I am!
Have yourselves a Marvelous, Restful and Chic weekend.
And remember…
Monday Musings…
In Daily Musings on February 11, 2013 at 2:14 pmHi Dahhlings! Here we are again, another cloudy but beautiful Monday. Did anyone watch the Grammy’s last night? I won’t go into much detail here, as every blog in the blogosphere is covering it, but did anyone see the Frank Ocean performance “Forest Gump”? What on earth was that? Did he just make that song up as he went along, and then the whistling!!! I rest my case! It was so painful to watch, see for yourself here.
Today is one year to the day since Whitney Houston joined God’s choir in the sky. May her soul be at rest. One year has really gone by really fast. Can you remember what you were doing one year ago?
Browsing through my favourite creativity site, Pinterest, I was looking at some street style fashion week photos, this photo of Sai Sankoh grabbed me the most. Love, love the colour of her turban with that very chic dress.
I love this dress by Rachel Roy, very regal.
Wishing you an Amazing, and Fabulous Monday!

There’s Nothing Like The Ritz…
In Daily Musings on February 8, 2013 at 11:07 amDahhlings… Finally, here are the photos of my birthday lunch at the Ritz in London. It was one of the most beautiful experiences; which made my birthday absolutely grand and super special. Thanks to my wonderful sister, Althea, for her elegant taste in choosing such a wonderful establishment, to celebrate this extra special milestone birthday.
You truly have not experienced fine dining until you have experienced the Ritz in London. The table service is truly a first class and highly synchronized piece of art, orchestrated by the superb and elegantly attired wait staff. Today’s post will be a photo blog in the true sense of the word… Enjoy!

A Truly Busy Day…

Do you sometimes wish you could clone yourself? Between filling orders, doing taxes, taking photos, uploading photos {and then of course my camera battery died and I didn’t charge the back up!) plus trying to write a draft on my trip to London for this blog, there is just not enough time in the day!
The image above is one of the many photos I’ve taken today, for the Maylana’s Closet Boutique. Being an entrepreneur is extremely rewarding, but there are times when we just need to grow an extra pair of hands.
Excuse me while I try to clone myself! 🙂
I’m Back From London!!
In Daily Musings on February 4, 2013 at 9:26 amWell good morning Dahhlings! I am now back in the States (I returned last Wednesday) and after resting and several days of jet lag, I’m now back to writing on my blog. Even though I’ve though tired, I’ve been busy filling orders for my crochet hats. Apparently, there was a huge demand for them while I was away, so my fingers have been very busy. I’m truly thankful to my customers and that God has blessed me with this talent.
Over the next few days I’ll be posting my birthday and travel photos of my time back home in London.
Until then, have a Fabulous, Amazing and Extraordinary Monday, I look forward to connecting with you soon.
Irving Penn, Photographer Extraordinaire…
In Daily Musings on January 11, 2013 at 2:54 pmI’ve always loved the photography of Irving Penn. I love to admire the black and white sharpness of most of his work; the poses of his subjects against a white or grey background. Everything is sharp and angular. For me, the one of Miles Davis above, captures it all; the darkness of his skin against the whites of his nails, makes for such a strong and powerful image. Irving Penn was able to capture the heart and soul of this complicated and spirited musician.
You really cannot mistake a Irving Penn photograph for any other. He was one of the top photographers of his time. Irving Penn photographed his first cover for Vogue magazine in 1943 and continued to work at the magazine throughout his career, shooting covers, portraits, still life, fashion, and photographic essays. Irving Penn passed away in 2009 at the age of 92.
Here is a small collection of some of my favourites.
I hope you have an amazing weekend, I’m finally going to start packing for my trip to London on Tuesday, it’s time to move everything I’m taking, from the sofa to the suitcase!

I hope your Monday has been Inspiring, Productive and that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it with Passion
And remember…
True beauty is skin deep. Not many people will have the patience or the capacity to see it in you.
Treasure the ones that see your beauty and be patient with the ones that don’t.
