I just found this Walter Steiger shoe from his 2013 Spring/Summer collection, and all I could say was WOW!
Anyone who knows me, knows I love my high heels, but for some reason these made my feet hurt just looking at them! {Although I do love them and think they’re sexy!}.
Today should have been my monthly Object’s of Desire posting, where I would post something ultra extravagant, if I had unlimited funds and/or a Black Amex card. Unfortunately my day started really late, so instead of giving you a half ass post, I’m posting a few of my favourite things.
I’m totally in love with the entire J. Mendel collection, lots of black {my favourite colour} as well as a strong reds, camels and greys. Click here to be taken to their boutique.

Loving this Stepen dweck Multi Stone Ring ~ $495 @ Neiman Marcus
We’ve always got to have some extra vivid colour in our lives!

To everyone in the U.S., have a safe, amazing and sunny Labor Day weekend!
Today I went for my usual biweekly hair cut, and decided to stop in The Gap; I’m glad I did! I found these cute fuchsia suede flats above for $39.95 and with my 40% off coupon, I got them for a steal. I was happy as a clam after that! I’m loving the ad with principal ballet star, Yuan Yuan Tan of the San Francisco Ballet; that’s quite a pose she’s striking there.
How will I wear these shoes: probably with black skinny cropped trousers and a black fitted tee, with a statement necklace and my trusty Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 bag on my arm. Let’s keep it simple 🙂
Also, while out and about, I decided to treat myself to some orange dyed sunflowers. I love sunflowers, they just make a room all chic and cheery.

I just discovered this gorgeous Liberty Track Spike trainer (sneaker) via AnOther, which is one of my favourite online magazines. I love this online publication for its funky vibe, great articles and gorgeous photos.
The collaboration between Nike and Liberty’s of London has produced some unusual and funky combinations. See full article at AnOther here. I wish they’d also make it as a sneaker, I’d be first in line for this one. On sale exclusively at Liberty’s Of London £150 {approx. $234)
Liberty’s is one of my favourites stores to visit when I go home to London; to see more of what they have to offer, visit them here: http://www.liberty.co.uk/
Just discovered these booties from one of my favourite shoe designers, Jeffrey Campbell. This cute pair called the Antonio, I would have called them Victoria, or Elizabeth myself, but I digress.
These vintage inspired booties are a beautiful nude colour with gold accents. It’s the gold ornamentation, which really got me; it’s nice to have a bit of flash on your shoes/boots. These will definitely be going on my Autumn/Winter wish list. Also available in black suede.
Last night I found the most amazing bespoke shoe store on Etsy called Goodbye Folk who are based in Mexico City. In 10 days you can have the most beautiful custom-made shoes in your possession. My favouites are the robin’s egg blue ankle booties above, (I’ve been having a serious blue moment lately!) lined in gorgeous red leather, priced at $350.
I would wear these booties with some blood-red or wine coloured tights; a vintage oversized men’s Aran sweater, probably in camel, and one of my oversized cowls which I happen to have in a contrasting blue/or one of my sleeveless fur vests, and with that I’ll be on my way!! I will be treating myself to these beauties!!
In my opinion their shoes could be unisex, if you’re into brogues and low heeled booties. The collection so far are mostly men’s shoes and boots, with a few women’s styles sprinkled in. At this time they only have 27 items in their boutique; but they are 27 beautifully well made shoes. Let’s stay tuned to see what else they come up with.
I’m also very much in love with the red patent and the floral brogues above, among a few others which have caught my eye.
Hi Daahlings! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was a very productive one. I spent most of the weekend taking photos of my inventory for my new Etsy store (now to upload!). As some of you may know, taking photos of clothes (or anything you want to post online) is a very time-consuming business; you’ve got to take a few shots in order to get 1 good one; so when you’re trying to add at least 5 images of an item, that’s a lot of shots. I hope you’re weekend was as productive and lovely as mine, and that you are going to do wonderful things in this new week.
I found the photo above on one of my favourite sites, Pinterest, the yellow dress, the turquoise bag, the shoes, this photo is in my opinion, Perfect!! This is what colour blocking is all about. I thought it was the perfect image for a Monday morning.
I’m quite intrigued by the heel less shoe which is trying to be the current trend right now (note: I said trying). Thanks in part to Lady Gaga strutting in her Noritaka Tatehana designed shoe back in 2011. What I’ve noticed, is you either really hate this shoe or you really love it. I’m still undecided as I don’t see myself wearing these 20 years from now (will these ever be vintage? NOT!). I do think these red sparkly ones above would look great on display in my living room though; what else would you do with these shoes?. I’ve written about these shoes before, but was inspired to write about them again after attending a fabulous event a couple of weekends ago. There were at least 3 women teetering around in these imaginary 5 inch wonders.
These look like weapons!
After some research and watching YouTube videos, I found out that these shoes are fairly easy to walk in. Apparently the trick is that the shoes are actually quite heavy because they are weighted in the platform base under the toe. Therefore, all your weight is forced forwards, then downwards, so you are unable to tip backwards (I’m still not truly convinced about that). On the flip side, I’ve also seen YouTube videos of fashion shows, where models have stumbled and fallen flat on their faces; not a pretty sight! This is probably the last time you’ll hear about these shoes from me for a while, I’m moving on to other interesting things!
5/ 24 Update: I just found out from fellow fashionista, Evy, that these are now on sale at Nordstroms for $59.00!! Get yours @ www.nordstrom.com limited sizes. I’m sure they’re on sale at other websites too; I’ll let you know.
I’m just loving the Herena floral print shoe by Aldo. Very much in tune with this season’s bright colours floating around this spring and summer season. For your outfit, I would suggest you pick a neutral colour as your base, pick one of the colours in the shoe if you like, this way you won’t look like a walking botanical garden. Make these shoes the statement of your outfit.
