I just found out about the End It Movement via Instagram. 27 million men, women and children are trapped in slavery around the world today. In brothels. In factories. In mines. On street corners. In homes. In the shadows, HIDDEN!!! Yet out in broad daylight, in plain sight here in America. Today, February 27, draw a Red “X” on your hand today, to join the End It Movement. 19 Billion… Billion with a “B”! Jan Koum made out like a bandit yesterday, don’t you think? I love his rags to riches story “Food Stamp to Billionaire” It reminds me that anything is possible in this world. As you’ve probably heard, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for a cool 19 Billion. I’m actually a user and fan of WhatsApp, as it’s a wonderful free way to keep in touch via text message with my friends and family back home in London.
WhatsApp is huge in Europe and Asia. You can send photos, videos and record messages. I’ve told a few friends about it here in the U.S. and they love it. The beautiful thing about WhatsApp is that it’s free the first year and then 99 cents per year after that.
Go to your app store to download WhatsApp if you’re looking for a free way to text without using up your data plan.

Hello Darlings! So good old Valentine’s Day is upon us again, and even though it may be too late to order a gift for yourself or significant other to arrive tomorrow, you can still purchase these lovely paper weights from Mark and Graham. I love this store, you can buy the most lovely paper, monogrammed stationery, and desk accessories, as well as some really beautiful leather items. I love anything paper or any item that’s going to make my home office look elegant. I think these fit the bill.

What I’ll be doing during Super Bowl
I’m really not into the Super Bowl, every news, and talk show program this past week has made a reference or dedicated an entire show to this event. The only thing about the Super Bowl that entertains me, are the commercials, and to see which player is more handsome than the other, for me that’s the full extent of the Super Bowl. So this evening is going to be a night of pampering, book reading, journal writing, watching Downton Abby and catching up on all those shows that have been sitting in my DVR since last year.
I was given a gift at Christmas, of this beautiful little book, which I’m reading right now; it’s Susie Larson’s “Blessing’s for the Evening“. This is such an elegant little book, which is quite heavy for its size, with a beautiful padded cover, complete with gorgeous photography and inspirational quotes to help you wind down your evening on a positive note. The premise is to read a devotional each night, but it’s so beautifully written, and feels so lovely in your hands, you can’t help but read a few pages at a time. Back in November, I received a nice size sample of Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense, and I have to say, I absolutely love it. After following the usual 3 steps, wash, clarifying lotion, and moisturizer (for full disclosure, I don’t use the Clinique soap anymore, as I much prefer Burt’s Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Cleansing Cream); you then apply Clinique’s Moisture Surge, by massaging it into your skin. What this product does for your skin is short of amazing, you have an instant glow, and if used at night (which I do), you wake up with your skin feeling really soft. Your skin literally drinks it in.
Since I’ve been using this product, I have definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin, which now feels much more hydrated and supple (and of course, drinking lots of water helps). For those of you, like me, with mature skin, this cream is a must have to add to your beauty arsenal. Buy yours here

Me! Yes Darlings, today is my birthday; I am so thankful and blessed to see another year. It has been an interesting year from 50 to 51, so many lessons learned, so much enlightenment. Many thanks to my UK family, Instagram and Facebook friends who have wished me lovely birthday blessings, I thank you all for sharing my day with me. The best gift today, was being completely snowed in here in DC, therefore, I did not have to go anywhere, so I was nice and cozy at home.
My birthday is actually my personal new year, so goals have been set, prayers have been said, and I’m looking forward to seeing what my 51st year brings. Jill Scott’s Golden video was sent to me as part of a birthday greeting, it sums up the way I’m living my life perfectly!
