Lippy Louboutin!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a red lip. There is nothing more elegant and sexy than red lipstick. There are so many shades of red, it can be mind-boggling, so you need to know what type of red works for you. I myself, prefer reds with blue undertones, rather than orange, so can you imagine my excitement, when I discovered that Christian Louboutin now has a lipstick!!! Velvet matte and satin finishes at that! I have yet to see them in person, I’m just thrilled by the fact there’s a Louboutin lipstick! The red I’ve seen online is called Diva (of course!), which is my kind of red. There’s also a gorgeous colour called Zoulou, which is a lovely nude; I also love nude lipsticks, my second go to shades.

The colour pictured above is Eton Moi, which is a gorgeous plum/purple. I was lucky enough to be gifted the Louboutin nail polish for my last birthday, which I’m yet to use, because it is busy being a statement piece on my bookshelf.

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and the colours really do look amazing. At $90 they are a splurge; do we need a $90 Louboutin lipstick? No! Do we want a $90 Louboutin lipstick?? YES!! I’m hoping I’ll get lucky again and be gifted this beautifully packaged product (hint, hint!) or maybe a couple of gift cards should do it. Just the packaging alone is worth it.

A lot of the colours are sold out and you have to pre-order, expected delivery is early November. I think I’ll take a trip to Saks and take a look and try for myself. Stay tuned for my review of actual product.

Pucker Up It’s National Lipstick Day…

Hello Darlings!

In honour of National Lipstick Day 2014, I had to post one of my absolute favourites, which I have posted here before. I absolutely love Tom Ford’s Cherry Lush, which is my all time favourite red to wear, when I’m in the mood.

Another favourite colour of mine is Laura Mercier’s Dusk, which just this second, I’ve found out has been discontinued!! I’ve found it on Fragrance.net (click link above). I must have it! Dusk was the perfect pink, with a mauve hue, when you just needed a little something. I normally layer this colour with Touch (above) by MAC which is also one of my go to nudes.

Whatever colour you decide to wear, pucker up, wear it confidently, and be the amazing Sylista you truly are.

Chanel’s Fashion Night Duo…

As everyone knows Thursday, September 6, marks the nationwide style event entitled, Fashion Night Out {FNO}. To all my followers overseas, FNO is a nationwide event, where every style maven, fashion editor, blogger, and chic shopaholic dressed to the nines, will be sipping cocktails, watching fashion shows, and makeup demonstrations, grabbing goodie bags, and of course shopping at the various participating stores.

Chanel is releasing a limited-edition colour collection, called Les Twin-Sets De Chanel to celebrate fashion’s most exceptional evening with three chic duos for lips and nails. I’m loving the nail colour Provocation and its corresponding lip colour La Provocante {above}, which is a sexy Merlot coloured red; one of the dark sexy colours debuting this season. Extra, Extra, Read All About It….

I just found out from WWD that Christian Louboutin is launching a beauty line in collaboration with Batallure Beauty LLC. Now you know that’s going to be a beyond fabulous makeup line. Set to be released late next year. From red soled shoes to pouty red lips. I’m looking forward to seeing it! Aren’t you?

A New Dawn, A New Day…

Yeah, it's Monday!!

Before I begin, I want to give a big London shout out to my mum, sister and mum Joyce, and the other UK mums I know, for having a fabulous UK Mother’s Day yesterday, Love ya!

Well it’s Monday again. I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend like I did. I spent yesterday in DuPont Circle having brunch at FrontPage which was just OK to begin with, then I found out later that they charged my credit card 3 times, so on top of the so so brunch and weak mimosa, I’m now out an extra $100!!!!! They’re supposed to correct the situation today so we’ll see. Do I need to make a phone call to my contact at the Washington Post??? There has been an issue of credit card fraud at restaurants. I would be the wrong person to go down that road with. I did not discover this until my dining partner called me later on to alert me after checking her own card. FrontPage received an extra $200 between the 2 of us. Anyway… I digress. After a cloudy and chilly start, yesterday turned out to be a really gorgeous day. My friend and I popped into a few really cute stores. I will feature items and/or stores in upcoming posts this week.

I bought my Tom Ford lipstick on Friday. I’ve never spent $48 on a lipstick , but I am well worth it! With the embossed TF it makes me not even want to use it. Maybe I’ll put it on display in my china cabinet with my collection of teapots. This will be the only thing I can afford from Mr. Ford, therefore, I’ll make it last!!
