These ladies look! Queens of their domain. All of them regal and proud in their finery. A friend of mine posted this on Facebook today, and I just had to share. The question my friend asked was, “What do you see when you look at this photo?” What I saw was how proud they are, they look noble and confident. They also look as though they’ve seen a lot. There is also an air of total grace, a sense of togetherness and a sense of family; whether they’re related or not, they’ll stick together through thick and thin. As I said to my friend… “I’d love to wear one of these dresses with a pair of 5″ heels and call it a day” Maybe with my Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes, don’t you think? Enjoy your Tuesday afternoon.

Loving Carol’s Daughter…
In New Loves! on January 31, 2012 at 10:51 amLadies, hopefully you are pampering yourselves on a daily basis because you are well deserving. A product I’ve been using for years is the Carol’s Daughter range of body products. I remember visiting Carol’s Daughter when Lisa Price had a tiny store on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn (well before the gentrification). A good friend and I used to make the trek from Long Island to Brooklyn, just to buy her products. At the time I had locs and used to use her Loc Butter religiously. I’m proud of Lisa in what she has achieved, from making the products in her kitchen to now being a major player in the beauty arena. For me as a small business women, she is a good example of what you can accomplish with hard work and determination and showing me, it can be done! My favourite body treats right now is the Goddess Flower Shea Souffle, just the name alone, makes you feel like royalty (which you are!). This product is a rich concoction of coconut and grapeseed oils, with Vitamin E thrown in for good measure. I also like the Ecstasy Body Butter and the Sugar-Dipped Vanilla Body Cream, which are both pretty luxurious! I promise you’ll fall in love. http://www.carolsdaughter.com/
