From The Archives ~ “My Fragrance For 2012”

In Daily Musings on April 11, 2013 at 12:17 pm

While going through past posts, I decided today would be archive day.  Here is a post which was originally published in March of 2012 {with minor formatting changes}.  When I look back on my past posts, I see how far I’ve come with my writing, and if I do say so, I’m quite proud of myself 🙂 Don’t you feel the same about your own writing?

If I’m in the mood, I might post another from the archives…  So stay tuned!  Happy Thursday Darlings, we’re nearly there.

I’ve decided upon Bvlgari Mon Jasmine Noir.  This is truly a beautiful fragrance which is already a classic for me.  This is the lighter version to the much heavier and in my opinion pungent Jasmine Noir, which reminds me too much of Opium by Yves Saint Laurent {remember that one ladies?}.

I’ve been a fan of Bvlgari fragrances for some time, especially the Bvlgari Rose Essentielle.  Mon Jasmine Noir has top notes of golden citron and floral lily of the valley with of course the elegant Jasmine. Sprayed lightly (very important, you don’t want everyone in the elevator to pass out!) you can have yourself a daily “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” moment.  Treat yourself! Available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks.

Gabrielle’s Vision Of Noir…

In Daily Musings on August 9, 2012 at 12:06 pm

As some of you may already know, Chanel will be releasing Coco Noir later this month.  The original Coco which was launched in 1984 has been a huge success and is now a timeless classic.

Encased in an elegant black decanter; this gorgeous specimen with notes of grapefruit, bergamot; middle notes of rose, jasmine, narcissus and geranium leaves, and base notes of tonka beans from Brazil and Venezuela, patchouli from Indonesia, sandalwood, vanilla and incense.  As you can imagine this is going to be one heady bouquet, more suitable for late fall and winter {please ladies do not wear this scent in 90 degree weather!}.

I’m a lover of the forever classic Chanel No. 5, so I will let you know my thoughts, once I’ve had a chance to sample this soon to be iconic scent.  Coco Noir will be available on August 17.

Happy Thursday Dahhlings… We’re nearly there!

A Whiff Of Ginger…

In Daily Musings on April 26, 2012 at 12:32 pm

My go to scent for the spring/summer season is Origins Ginger Essence (if you’ve been following my posts, you already know,  I love the Ginger Essence body scrub).  I absolutely love this fragrance and have been using it on and off for years.  What’s interesting is it’s pretty inexpensive and can definitely stand up to some of the other designer fragrances.  In my opinion, you must be a fan of ginger to like this fragrance; which is balanced by bergamot, lemon and lime.  Ginger Essence smells very clean and fresh; and is  light enough for those humid DC summers, without becoming overpowering.  Ginger Essence is also available in an elegant glass tube with a roll top to pop inside your handbag.

To see the entire range of Ginger Essence body products click here: http://origins.com/products/3827/Bath-Body/Star-Collection/Ginger/index.tmpl  Also available at other fine department stores ~  50 ml $41.00/100ml $52.00

Happy Thursday darlings, One more day to go!!
