Christmas Time is Here… Again!

Can you believe Christmas is here again!!! I remember Christmas 2014 very clearly, the time is just flying by.  My busy schedule did not allow me time to buy a tree, and I’ve been noticing the holiday mannequins which have been showing up on the social media circuit and I was very intrigued.  I decided to create my own.  Here is my version of the decorative Christmas mannequin.

Christmas, Xmas, Holiday, Mannequin

I used 6′ of artificial greenery which I bought from Target about 10 years ago; it already had the white frosted acorns attached, I then added some glass Christmas ornaments and for added glamour I then added the fairy lights.

To get you in the true holiday mood, here are 3 of my favourites. Do You Hear what I Hear by Whitney Houston,  Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt and Silent Night sung by the Temptations and another version of Silent Night sung by  Mariah Carey.

Happy Easter fabulous Bunnies {I still don’t understand how bunnies and Easter became associated, but I digress!} Wishing you a blessed, light filled and beautiful day.  Above is the ultimate Easter bonnet.  If you’re going to wear one, you may as well do it stylishly.

chocolate-filled-half-egg

Growing up in London, every Easter, my mum used to treat us to these huge milk chocolate eggs, which were filled with more chocolate surprises, and sometimes small toys.  These eggs seem to be very hard to find here in the States, and if you do find them, they’ve been imported from England, and sold at exorbitant prices!

Big sis please ship one to me!!

Collage

Hi Dahhlings! It truly has been a very busy last few days, so busy, that I never got a chance to write my last-minute shopping guide among other blog projects.  The collage above should explain why I’ve been MIA! It’s been a pleasant problem to have, I truly enjoy creating elegant items for my customers, and this time of year is especially busy.

I hope you’ve gotten all of your gifts, decorations, delicious food and all the other important goodies for the big day. 2 days to go!!!

If you haven’t gotten your gifts yet {tommorow is Christmas Eve!} I suggest you take yourselves to the nearest supermarket or drug store, and buy some of those well-known gift cards! Itunes, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn, anyone?

A Joyful Monday To You…

In Daily Musings on December 10, 2012 at 8:57 am

002 Gorgeous dress

Well Dahhlings. here we are, yet another Monday.  December seems to be speeding by; this coming Sunday will be the 15th, meaning we will already be half way though!!! How’s your holiday shopping going?

Wow… I’m amazed at how fast, time is speeding by.  Before you know it we will be drinking champagne {or sparkling wine} celebrating the new year.

I’m actually looking forward to 2013, lots of exciting things happening for myself and Maylana’s Closet.  I’ll be celebrating the first birthday of my blog on January 5th {look out for celebration posts}, I’ll be going home to London to celebrate an important milestone birthday {watch out for fabulous blog posts live and direct from my hometown, London}, plus my sister and I will be nurturing and growing the vision we have for our business with unlimited passion!  We’re going to the next level!!

Why did I post the dress above? I thought it was simply gorgeous.  One of my Facebook associates thought it was just my style and he was absolutely right. I love everything about this dress, and with my short hair, it’s absolutely perfect. I wish I knew who it was by, because it would make a lovely birthday dress.

Start your week with a bright light, nothing but JOY will shine on you.  Wishing you a Positive, Inspiring and Beautiful week!

And remember to…

Create powerful thoughts of happiness and your body and mind will always remain happy.

My Target + Neiman Marcus Moment…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on December 1, 2012 at 7:53 am

 carolina Herrera stationary2

Well Dahhlings, it’s finally here! The legendary partnership between Target and Neiman Marcus. What do I think? Well I logged on at 6:30 a.m. this morning looking to be completely wowed and I WASN’T.  Everything just looked a little blah and inexpensive, I was going to use the word cheap, but decided to be nice!  Now before you start screaming, remember this is just my personal opinion.  Yes I know it’s Target (which I love, who doesn’t?), but the collab between them and Liberty of London is still my overall favourite, and nothing has really compared, except the Missoni duvet set, sheets and shower curtain {which I sadly didn’t get}.

The Target website seemed pretty limited, so I’m sure there is so much more in the stores.  I did see some nice things in the lookbook which did not appear online, so again maybe you just have to go to the store.

The only items which caught my eye, were the Carolina Herrera stationary set, the Brian Atwood leather gloves and the Alice + Olivia bike at $499.  Also, I really liked the Tracy Reese blouse and ceramic plates.  I  did order the stationary set for myself and my sister because we both love paper  {I still might order the Tracy Reese plates}.  I thought about the Brian Atwood gloves long and hard, but again, I just wasn’t moved by them.  If they’re still around and I see them in person (which I doubt), and the quality is nice, I might cave in.  If you find items you love in the collection, or just your thoughts about it, let me know.  Visit www.target.com

Happy shopping!
