{From The Archives} I’m Going Naked 2…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on October 9, 2012 at 7:53 am

This is an article I posted back in February 2012 {now slightly revised}; I decided to repost, because I thought these colours would¬†be¬†gorgeous for autumn, and also, at the time of writing, my blog was only a month old ūüôā

No I’m not going that naked!! But Naked 2 by Urban Decay. It’s one of the best and hottest¬†eyeshadow¬†palettes… EVER!¬† This has been the most anticipated sequel to the original Naked Palette, the stores¬†could barely keep it on the shelves, when the original came out, and can you believe there was a waitlist for this one!

With the Naked palettes you can literally create hundreds of beautiful eyeshadow combinations, you can mix them, use each on its own, do whatever your creative heart desires.¬† Well I’ve finally got mine and I’m very happy. If you’re anything like me, treating yourself is always a happy occasion, worthy of a celebration.

If you’re looking for a Naked Palette¬†tutorial for a smokey eye click here

The original Naked consisted of 12 neutral shades¬†which included¬†colours to create the smokey eye¬†look.¬† The new palette consists of 12¬†Taupes¬†and what they are calling “Greige” neutrals. I also love the names of the colours, Booty Call, Tease, Suspect,¬†you get the drift.¬† Urban¬†Decay has done it again! ¬†Beautiful colours and ¬†beautiful packaging;¬†this set¬†would also make a chic holiday gift.¬† $50.00 at¬†Urban Decay, Sephora¬†{click links to shop},¬†and other stores. Go get yours!!

A Colourful Wednesday…

In Daily Musings on September 12, 2012 at 4:41 pm

Happy Wednesday Dahhlings!¬† We’re half way there, speeding towards the weekend; so to help you along,¬†I’m sending¬†some cheerful colour into your life.

I¬†Found this gorgeous shot on Pinterest and had to post it for you. ¬†I felt the colours were amazing with her¬†exotic almond¬†shaped eyes, and decided that all this sparkle, was just the thing to perk you up, and help you¬†through the next 2 days. WE’RE NEARLY THERE!

I need your help; can anyone think of another term for Wednesday instead of “hump day“?¬† I really dislike that term!¬† Isn’t there something more fun and a little more chic we could use?

Olympic Face Painting…

In Daily Musings on July 31, 2012 at 9:21 am

As some of you may know I am British (London) of Jamaican extraction.  In honour of the Olympics, I thought it fitting to post this gorgeous image which was posted on my Facebook page yesterday.

It is a beautiful representation of the Jamaican, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago flags combined.  These teams have been lovingly named Team Caribbean!  This is face painting at its best.

Girl About Town…

In Daily Musings, Maylana's Dream List, New Loves! on April 24, 2012 at 10:10 am

I was out and about this weekend picking up a few things.¬† I ¬†had to replace my MAC Studio Fix, I was down to the scrapings (not a good thing) I just haven’t had¬†time to replace it sooner.¬† Studio fix is my go to product for daily use. If I want more coverage, I apply a little Bobbi Brown stick foundation in Warm Almond underneath and that gives me the complete coverage I’m sometimes looking for.¬†¬† While I was at it, I picked up my MAC lipstick in Voice with Cork lip liner. I use this combo for a more natural look¬†when I don’t want to go “POW” with the Tom Ford Cherry Lush.¬† A nude lip works every time.

I took a little wander into¬†the Saks shoe department (why did I do that?)¬†and found these little beauties; I’m just coveting these lettered Louboutins right now!

Then of course there were these beautiful Reed Krakoff¬†sandals.¬† Everything this man touches turns out gorgeous (look how he turned Coach around!).¬† His own line of clothing and accessories is simply stunning. I’ll feature Reed Krakoff’s designs in a later post.

On my way out of Saks I came across this little number. Very Missoni¬†inspired in my opinion.¬† This is a very easy to¬†wear dress; dress it up with high wedges or¬†create a more casual look with¬†thong¬†flat sandals, it all depends upon¬† you’re mood that day.

I finally saw my Gucci Fiat 500, how I looooove this car! the dude who owned this vehicle, just had it imported from Italy, apparently they have stopped production as it was a limited edition.  He is obviously a Gucci fanatic, because he was in head to toe Gucci, sunglasses,  jewelry, jeans, shoes; hey whatever floats your boat!

So that’s pretty much my wants¬†from head to toe (and car); now to crack open the piggy bank and see what’s in there!

Have a beautiful day… kisses!
