Exquisitely Painted Pumpkins…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on October 25, 2012 at 8:35 am

While perusing the ever so addictive Pinterest, I came across this gorgeous painted pumpkin, which was featured in  the October issue of Chatelaine Magazine.

It was the vibrant colours which really caught my eye.  It never once occurred to me to hollow out a pumpkin, then paint it and fill it with flowers. The good thing is, you don’t even have to hollow out {less work!}, you can just paint as is and viola, a beautiful piece of art created by you!

Thanks to Chatelaine Magazine, this is a DIY project I will try in the near future.  Get yourselves some sample size paints at Home Depot or Lowes and paint away to your heart’s content. Who would have thought!! Off to the supermarket I go!

Monday’s Tête-à-Tête, Pinterest & Other Musings…

In Daily Musings on October 22, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Happy Monday Sweethearts! How was your weekend?  Mine was restful, the weather was gorgeous, and honestly I did not accomplish everything I wanted, but I relaxed, got another cowl started, and had a wonderful and creative exchange of ideas with my sister, as to how we want to expand our entrepreneurial endeavours.

I did not go to the Women Who Rock exhibit at the National Women In The Arts Museum as I mentioned in Friday’s post, but I promise, I will be stopping by soon; so that I can tell you all about it {I’ve got until Jan 6! :-)}

A little artistic amusement for you!

And lastly, I found these gorgeous yellow suede wedges on Pinterest, they have absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I felt they would brighten your Monday {they’ll certainly brighten mine}; plus I LOVE THEM!!  I hope you’ll check out my Pinterest boards, {there are 35 and counting!}.  If you’re a Pinterest addict like I am; follow me, let me know, and I’ll follow you; I’d love to see what you’re up to.  Creativity is what life is all about!!  Click here to see boards

Wishing you a Fantastic and Productive Monday

Dior Couture with Patrick Demarchelier…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on October 3, 2012 at 10:02 am

Though this book was released back in November 2011 {and I still haven’t purchased my own copy!}, it truly is one of the most gorgeous coffee table books around.  With absolutely stunning images, taken in equally glamorous locations, by renowned fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier; he and the house of Dior have come together to chronicle some of the most beautiful and incredible haute couture.

The book takes us through a gorgeous pictorial voyage, through the history of the house of Dior.  Beginning with Christian Dior, Yves Saint Lauren, Marc Bohan and ending with John Galliano.  I had the chance to browse through this book  earlier this year, and it truly is a stunning piece of art, worthy of any well-dressed coffee table.

This book will definitely go on my 2012 holiday wish list!

A Colourful Wednesday…

In Daily Musings on September 12, 2012 at 4:41 pm

Happy Wednesday Dahhlings!  We’re half way there, speeding towards the weekend; so to help you along, I’m sending some cheerful colour into your life.

I Found this gorgeous shot on Pinterest and had to post it for you.  I felt the colours were amazing with her exotic almond shaped eyes, and decided that all this sparkle, was just the thing to perk you up, and help you through the next 2 days. WE’RE NEARLY THERE!

I need your help; can anyone think of another term for Wednesday instead of “hump day“?  I really dislike that term!  Isn’t there something more fun and a little more chic we could use?

Harry And The Rings…

In Daily Musings, New Loves!, Object's of Desire on September 11, 2012 at 6:44 am

I met a lovely young lady recently, who was wearing the most gorgeous ring on a chain around her neck.  The reason said ring is placed there, is because she is 8 months pregnant, and therefore it’s not comfortable to wear at this time.  When I asked her about it, she told me her uncle in law created it for her.  Well… What an absolute treasure this turned out to be.

Who is her uncle? His name is Harry Roa, a fantastic jewelry designer based in Sarasota Florida.  Harry is the designer and owner of Harry Roa Jewelry Design Studio and Gallery {click here}, as well as the OceanLily jewelry boutique which carry his limited editions on Etsy {click here}.

All of his designs are handcrafted using a combination lost wax process and fabrication.  Harry uses Palladium, which is more precious than silver, whiter and lighter than platinum.  Palladium is also a tarnish free metal. He also works with 14K gold.

Each piece of wearable art {and they truly are!} is embellished with quality precious gemstones and diamonds.  Mr. Roa does not produce any molds of any of his pieces; therefore, making each piece a one of a kind. If you’d like to contact Harry in order to commission a special piece, you can contact him via his website.

The ring above is called PS In The Evening ~ That’s the one I have my eye on, it is beyond GORGEOUS!!!

If you do nothing else today, visit Harry’s websites. Each piece is absolutely Stunning!

Very much in love with this handbag by J. Mendel

Today should have been my monthly Object’s of Desire posting, where I would post something ultra extravagant, if I had unlimited funds and/or a Black Amex card.  Unfortunately my day started really late, so instead of giving you a half ass post, I’m posting a few of my favourite things.

I’m totally in love with the entire J. Mendel collection, lots of black {my favourite colour} as well as a strong reds, camels and greys. Click here to be taken to their boutique.

To Be Adorned With Decadorn…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on August 30, 2012 at 12:14 pm

A couple of months ago, my sister sent me a beautiful image of a amethyst ring she had just purchased back home in London; what was ironic was that I had bought a very similar ring here in the U.S., maybe 6 months before; talk about having the exact same tastes.

Decadorn Jewelry is the vision of Helen Bailey, who graduated from Nottingham Trent University, with a degree in Textile Design.  Her online bazaar sells unique and striking statement jewelery.  Before starting her own company, Helen worked as a high street Fashion & Accessories Buyer for over 10 years; and therefore has an amazing and experienced eye for detail.

Each piece is absolutely stunning, consisting of mostly Agate, Amethyst and Crystal Quartz {among other semi precious crystals}.  Helen also creates beautiful beaded bracelets of various metals, which are inlaid within a leather cord.  For such beautiful jewelry, her prices are absolutely fantastic!  I’m hoping to have my own fingers and neck adorned with Decadorn in the near future.

Louis Vuitton’s Dotty Pop Up Store To Adore…

In Daily Musings, New Loves! on August 28, 2012 at 11:36 am

One of my favourite stores back home in London, Selfridges, is featuring the new Louis Vuitton pop up store, and they’ve gone a little dotty!  Selfridges is visualizing the magical world of Yayoi Kusama, who is a Japanese artist and writer, who has worked in a wide variety of mediums.

This gorgeously designed pop-up store is filled with pumpkins inspired by her artwork and a stunning collection of exclusive, luxury, spotty accessories.  For me, this is a magical wonderland of one of my favourite brands.

Selfridges is always pushing the envelope with their quirky, yet elegant window displays and interior embellishments.  I would love to be there right now to view this display for myself.  The website is a treat too, with its polka dot theme and sleek sliding images, it’s worth taking a look. Who knew polka dots could be so chic!

Oh Don’t Stop The Carnival…

In Daily Musings on August 27, 2012 at 10:06 am

Good morning dahhlings! Another Monday, this one being the one before Labor Day weekend here in the states and today being a big bank holiday back home in England, with the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s largest street festival in full swing in London as I type.  The Notting Hill Carnival has been in existence in London since 1966.

Every year the streets of West London come alive with the sounds of Reggae and Calypso music, with elaborate costumes and foods from the various West Indian Islands {you may already know I am of Jamaican extraction}.  I haven’t been to the carnival in years, but I’ll be playing some cheerful sounds around my home today to keep me in the carnival mood.

The downside to this, is it means summer really is nearly over.  Don’t you think it went by too fast?
